Desiree Guyton, a highly sought-after trauma healing specialist, speaker, and trainer, is dedicated to guiding individuals toward healing, hope, faith, and empowered decision-making.
Desiree is a contemporary thinker and trauma therapist, and co-author of the groundbreaking training manual “Healing Wounds of Generational Trauma: the Black and White Experience” © 2018. With an extensive background and successful track record, she has been a beacon of support for teens and adults grappling with trauma, ADHD, ODD, anxiety, depression, and more.
Desiree specializes in trauma healing, addressing physical, mental, and emotional abuse, as well as generational inherited trauma and racial trauma. She believes in breaking the cycle of trauma, providing a customized approach through modalities such as Psychotherapy, narrative therapy, Trauma Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Healing Quest Counseling Villages provides a range of services, including family counseling, nurturing parenting skills, foster care, adoption, and behavior management. Desiree’s expertise extends to in-home counseling, parent-child reunification, family counseling, LGBTQ issues, juvenile gang trauma, sexual assault, domestic violence, and more.
As the founder and owner of Healing Quest Counseling Villages, Desiree has served the south jersey community for over 15 years, both through intensive in-community services (IIC) and nine years in private practice under DSA Counseling Works. Her work involves collaboration with social services, juvenile justice commission, DCPP, and other community organizations.
Desiree’s journey in effecting positive change began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Education from Messiah College in 1991. She furthered her education with a Master of Divinity in Contemporary Leadership in 2004 and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary in 2008. Becoming a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in 2012, Desiree continued her commitment to global trauma recovery, receiving a Global Trauma Recovery Institute (GTRI) training certificate in 2013. She also achieved Master Trainer status for Trauma Healing Institute Certificate Program in 2015 and became a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP) in 2018.
Desiree’s transformative journey includes volunteering in Rwanda, Africa, and continuously evolving as a global change agent. Her passion and commitment to healing, combined with her diverse experiences as an ordained minister and director of children and youth ministries, uniquely position her to guide individuals through their healing journey.
