Marcel

Therapist

Marcel is a dedicated therapist in private practice who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, and a variety of other mental health concerns. He also supports clients facing life transitions, decision-making challenges, and relational difficulties. Marcel utilizes a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs, helping them build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. For clients who desire it, he thoughtfully incorporates Christian principles into the therapeutic process as a source of strength and guidance.

Marcel is a social worker with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals and families through a wide range of challenges. He spent 10 years with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP), working closely with adolescents and families in crisis. He has also worked with individuals facing substance use issues and served as a high school social worker for three years. Marcel is DBT-certified through Evergreen, which further strengthens his ability to help clients develop practical coping strategies and emotional regulation skills. These diverse experiences provide him with a well-rounded perspective and shape his practical, compassionate approach to his work.

One of Marcel’s greatest strengths is his ability to build strong, genuine relationships with the people he works with. He understands that trust is essential and prioritizes creating a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable opening up. Whether working with teens, families, couples, or individuals in recovery, Marcel emphasizes connection and support, helping clients feel heard, understood, and motivated to grow.

Outside of work, Marcel enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He likes to travel, try new foods, and when he gets the chance, barbecue or go fishing. He is also a big fan of the NBA and NFL.
