At Healing Quest Counseling Villages, we understand that children and teens often struggle emotionally at home, in school, and in relationships. Our Intensive In-Community (IIC) Program provides personalized in-home mental health counseling and behavioral support designed to help youth and families regain stability, improve communication, and build healthy coping skills.

Our licensed therapists and behavioral assistants work directly with children, adolescents, and families in the comfort of their home or community setting to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges before they escalate further.

What Is Intensive In-Community (IIC) Counseling?

Intensive In-Community Services are free mental health services through the State of New Jersey for youth ages 0–21 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, social, or school-related difficulties. Our goal is to help youth and families develop practical tools, strengthen relationships, improve emotional regulation, and create long-term success at home, school, and in the community. Services may help children and teens struggling with:

Anxiety and depression

Anger or behavioral outbursts

School refusal or academic concerns

Trauma and stress-related symptoms

ADHD and emotional regulation difficulties

Family conflict

Social challenges and peer relationships

Defiance or risky behaviors

Grief, loss, or life transitions

How Healing Quest Counseling Villages Helps

Services are typically short-term (8–12 weeks), but may continue longer depending on clinical need and authorization. Our IIC team provides:

In-home counseling with licensed therapists

Behavioral assistance and skill-building support

When appropriate, youth receiving IIC services through Healing Quest Counseling Villages may also transition into ongoing outpatient therapy with the same provider for continuity of care and support.

How to Access Services

All Intensive In-Community Services in New Jersey are accessed through PerformCare New Jersey.

• The youth and guardian should be present during the call
(Youth 18+ may call independently.)

• A Mobile Response worker or Care Management Organization (CMO) representative may contact you within approximately one hour if criteria are met.

• Meetings can often be completed virtually or in-person based on your preference.

During your intake or assessment, you can request:
